Burrinja Gallery provides an inspirational view of contemporary and traditional Australian art, and its collection of Aboriginal and Oceanic art is equal to any in Australia.
Burrinja also features a local contemporary artists’ gallery, Artists Studios and local Artists Shop, Burrinja Café & Bar, Open Studios, Performance Space. Featuring exhibitions, theatre, music and workshop programs.
Burrinja has a fully licensed café offering a casual luncheon menu and great coffee. Available for fully catered functions.
A new Theatre for the Dandenong Ranges
In May 2011 a new era of arts, culture and community comes to the Hills when we open a 400 seat purpose-built performing arts venue at Burrinja in Upwey.
This fabulous facility will enable the region’s community, schools, theatre companies and music groups to access a quality performing arts venue without having to travel long distances ‘off the mountain’. It will be a venue the Dandenong Ranges can rightly call their own. Building commences in late 2009.

Burrinja Gallery & Café STAY OPEN while we build the new theatre, continuing to present exhibitions, music, events and functions. Plus we’ll run all our regular regional events, like the Dandenong Ranges Open Studios and Hillside Film Festival.
