Options Navigating the map.
Two possiblities exist for navigating the map. The first is panning.

                  By default (when you first open the map page) the map opens in the top left hand corner. The reference coordinates are shown on the side and top of the map. These reference coordinates are always present whilst using the map. This way, you are always able to know where you are in relation to other map points (this is especially useful when using the zoom feature).

                  Panning the map is done easily by simply clicking on the direction that you wish to go. North will take you to the north of the region. South will take you south. You will know you have reached the furthest point on the map when clicking in a particular direction does not yield a new map.

                  Using the zoom feature.
Zoom allows you to view different magnitudes of the map. To know what level you are currently viewing, check the highlighted zoom number. There are five levels that the map offers.

Level 1
Level 1 is the deepest level of zoom. It shows the street level view of the region you are interested in.

Level 2
Level 2 is the default level. Level 2 has a great level of detail, without forcing you to view every street and backroad that exists in the area. All main roads are displayed.

Level 3
Level 3 displays the map at a suburb level. You are able to see particular attractions positions' in relation to another suburb. It shows a few major roads.

Level 4
Level 4 is a quartered version of the entire region. The entire Dandenong Ranges can be view in a few simple clicks.

Level 5
Level 5 shows the Dandenong Ranges region in relation to Melbourne airport, and to various other townships and cities within its home state of Victoria.

Selecting a reference point.
The map allows you to specify a reference point by simply clicking in one the grids that appear on the screen. Clicking in a grid will highlight that particular area so that if you pan around the map, or zoom to a different level then you can maintain your current position of interest.
